What it does
This tool writes text on a picture right in your browser. Each text is a layer you can move with the mouse or your finger, with its own font, size, color, outline, background box, opacity and rotation. The meme generator starts with the classic top and bottom captions in white capitals with a black outline, sized automatically so they fit the picture, or a caption on a white band above the image. The result keeps the full resolution of your photo and downloads as PNG or JPG. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
Is my picture uploaded?
No. The picture is opened and drawn by your browser; nothing leaves your device and nothing is stored.
Which font do memes use?
The classic meme font is Impact, in white capitals with a black outline. If your device does not have Impact, a similar heavy font is used.
Does it lower the quality of my photo?
No. The text is drawn on the picture at its original size, so a 4000-pixel photo stays 4000 pixels. PNG keeps every pixel; JPG makes a smaller file.
Can I write in any language?
Yes. Long lines wrap automatically, including in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai, which have no spaces between words. Emoji work too.
