What it does

GPA (grade point average) is the average of your grades weighted by the credits of each course. Choose the scale, enter each course with its grade and credits, and the average is calculated as you type. On the American 4.0 scale you can count A+ as 4.33 and add the Honors and AP/IB bonus for a weighted GPA, and combine it with previous terms for a cumulative GPA. The calculator also works out India's 10-point CGPA with the percentage, the Philippine GWA and the weighted average of any grades, such as 0–10 or 0–20.

Frequently asked questions

How is GPA calculated?
Each grade is turned into points (A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0 and so on down to F = 0), multiplied by the course credits, and the sum is divided by the total credits.

What is a weighted GPA?
Many high schools add 0.5 points for Honors courses and 1.0 for AP or IB courses, so a weighted GPA can go above 4.0, up to 5.0. Colleges often recalculate it unweighted, so it is useful to look at both.

How do I convert CGPA to a percentage?
CBSE multiplies the CGPA by 9.5, so 8.0 becomes 76%. Many universities have their own formula, so check the rule of your institution before using the result officially.
