HEIC to JPG Converter

Free HEIC to JPG converter. Turn iPhone photos into JPG files that open everywhere, in any browser, one or many at a time. Nothing is uploaded.

The images are read by your browser and are not sent anywhere. No upload, no storage.

What it does

iPhones save photos as HEIC, a format that keeps the same quality as JPG in about half the space. Many computers, websites and upload forms still do not accept it. Converting to JPG gives a file that opens anywhere, the right way up. Safari reads HEIC by itself; in Chrome, Firefox and Edge the page first loads a HEIC decoder, about 1.5 MB, only once and only when you choose a HEIC photo. Either way the photos are read in your browser and never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose the images from your device. They are read in the browser and go no further.
  2. Pick the format to convert to and, for JPG and WebP, the quality.
  3. Convert, then download each image or all of them together in a ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?
Because HEIC takes about half the space of a JPG of the same quality, so more photos fit on the phone. If you would rather have JPG from the start, choose Most Compatible under Settings, Camera, Formats on the iPhone; new photos will then be saved as JPG.

Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Choose as many as you like; each one is converted in turn and listed with its size before and after. Download them one by one or all together in a ZIP file.

Will my phone photos come out the right way up?
Yes. Phones often save photos lying on their side with a note saying which way is up. The converter applies that note, so the new file is upright in any program, even those that ignore it.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. They are read by your browser and the PDF is built in the page itself. There is no upload and nothing is stored, and once the page has loaded it keeps working with the network switched off.
