Image to PDF
Free image to PDF converter. Turn JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP or WebP images into one PDF, one image per page, right in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and photos keep their full quality.
What it does
Each image becomes one page of a new PDF. JPG and PNG files go into the PDF exactly as they are, the same bytes and not a re-compressed copy, so a photo keeps all of its quality and the PDF is about the size of the images put together. Other formats are first redrawn by the browser as PNG. Phones usually store photos lying on their side, with a note saying which way is up; your browser follows that note but PDF readers do not, so the tool turns each image to match what you see on screen.
How to use it
- Choose the images from your device. They are read in the browser and go no further.
- Put them in order, and pick the page size, orientation and margin.
- Convert and the PDF downloads straight away.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting reduce image quality?
Not for JPG and PNG, which are placed in the PDF unchanged. Other formats are redrawn as PNG, which loses nothing. The one exception is a mirrored photo, as some front cameras save; that one is redrawn as a high-quality JPG so it can be turned the right way.
Why do phone photos come out sideways with other converters?
Phones save most photos lying on their side and add a note, the EXIF orientation, saying how to turn them. Browsers and photo galleries obey it; PDF readers ignore it. This tool reads the note and places each image turned the right way, without re-compressing it.
Which page size should I choose?
A4 or Letter if the PDF will be printed or sent as a document: the image is shrunk to fit and centred, never stretched. Same as each image makes every page exactly the size of its picture, which is best for reading on screen. Follow each image turns the sheet sideways for wide pictures, so they do not end up squeezed into half a page.
Can I convert HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Only in a browser that can open HEIC by itself, which today means Safari. Elsewhere the tool says it cannot read the file. On the iPhone, choosing Most Compatible under Settings, Camera, Formats makes new photos JPG.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. They are read by your browser and the PDF is built in the page itself. There is no upload and nothing is stored, and once the page has loaded it keeps working with the network switched off.
