Image to SVG Converter (Vectorize PNG, JPG)
Convert PNG or JPG to SVG in your browser: logos, icons and drawings are traced into vector shapes with the colours you choose, ready to scale to any size.
What it does
A PNG or JPG is made of pixels, so it gets blurry when enlarged. SVG describes the picture as shapes, so it stays sharp at any size and can be edited in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma, or used by cutting machines. This tool reduces the image to the number of colours you choose and traces the outline of each colour area into vector paths, entirely in your browser. It works best for logos, icons, text and flat drawings.
How to use it
- Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP image.
- Choose the number of colours and the detail, and click Convert to SVG.
- Compare the result with the original and download the SVG.
Frequently asked questions
How many colours should I choose?
Use about the number of colours in the logo: 2 for black and white artwork, 4 to 8 for most logos. More colours keep gradients and photos but make the file much larger.
Can I convert a photo to SVG?
Yes, with 16 or more colours and smoothing on, but the result looks like a poster rather than a photo, and the file can be larger than the original JPG. Vectorizing is meant for flat graphics.
Is the SVG the same size as my image?
Yes. Large images are traced at 1000 pixels to keep it fast and then scaled back, so the SVG has the width and height of the original.
