JSON to Excel Converter (XLSX)
Convert JSON to an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) in your browser: nested objects become columns like address.city, and each list in an object gets its own sheet.
What it does
JSON from an API or an export is usually a list of objects, sometimes with objects inside objects. This tool turns each object into a row and each key into a column, flattening nested keys with a dot (address.city). Numbers stay numbers, lists of simple values are joined with commas, and an object with several lists, such as users and orders, becomes a workbook with one sheet each.
How to use it
- Open a .json file or paste the JSON.
- Check the sheets and the preview.
- Click Download Excel and open the .xlsx file.
Frequently asked questions
How are nested objects handled?
Each nested key becomes its own column, named with the path: {"address": {"city": "Porto"}} gives a column address.city with the value Porto.
What if objects have different keys?
All keys become columns, in the order they first appear, and a row without a key simply has an empty cell there.
Is my JSON sent anywhere?
No. It is converted in your browser, so API keys, customer data or anything else in the file never leaves your device.
