What it does

Markdown is a simple way to format text with plain characters: # for headings, ** for bold, - for lists. It is used on GitHub, Reddit, Discord, Notion, Obsidian, in README files and in the answers of AI chatbots. These tools follow CommonMark, the standard Markdown specification, plus the GitHub extensions: tables, task lists, strikethrough and automatic links.

How to use it

  1. Paste or type your Markdown, or open a .md file.
  2. Choose the paper size, A4 or Letter.
  3. Download the .docx file and open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so private notes, documentation and drafts never leave your device.

Which Markdown syntax is supported?
All of CommonMark (headings, emphasis, lists, quotes, code, links, images, HTML) plus GitHub Flavored Markdown tables, task lists with [ ] and [x], strikethrough with ~~ and links that start with https://.

Will the document be editable in Word?
Yes. It is a normal .docx file: headings use the Heading 1 to 6 styles, lists are real Word lists, and tables and links can be edited like any others. Images appear as their description in brackets.
