Newton-metre

The newton-metre (also newton metre; symbol N⋅m or N m) is a unit of torque (also called moment) in the SI system. One newton-metre is equal to the torque resulting from a force of one newton applied perpendicularly to the end of a moment arm that is one metre long. The nonstandard notation Nm occurs in some fields.

Poundal Foot

The poundal-foot (pdl·ft) is a unit of torque in the foot-pound-second (FPS) absolute system, defined as the torque resulting from a force of one poundal acting at a perpendicular distance of one foot. The poundal itself is the absolute unit of force in the FPS system, equal to the force needed to accelerate one pound-mass at one foot per square second. One pdl·ft equals approximately 0.0421401 newton-metres.
