Volt-Ampere

The volt-ampere (VA) is the SI unit of apparent power in an electrical circuit, equal to the product of the root-mean-square voltage and current. In DC circuits it is equivalent to the watt, but in AC circuits it accounts for the phase difference between voltage and current. It is widely used to rate uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and transformers.
