Technical atmosphere
The technical atmosphere (at) is a non-SI unit of pressure defined as the pressure exerted by one kilogram-force on a surface of one square centimetre, equal to exactly 98,066.5 pascals. It differs from the standard atmosphere (atm), which is slightly larger at 101,325 Pa. The technical atmosphere was widely used in older European and Soviet engineering practice before SI units became standard.
Pascal
The pascal (Pa) is the SI derived unit of pressure, defined as one newton per square metre (N/m²). It was adopted by the General Conference on Weights and Measures in 1971 and named after the French mathematician and physicist Blaise Pascal. Standard atmospheric pressure is approximately 101,325 Pa, and it is widely used in science, engineering, and meteorology.
