What it does
Rotating a PDF changes one number on each page: the angle the reader should turn it by before showing it. The page itself is not redrawn, so text stays text, nothing is re-compressed, and the file stays practically the same size. Because the rest of the document is left alone, bookmarks, links and form fields survive, which is not the case when merging or splitting. The new rotation is added to whatever the page already had, so turning a page by 90° twice leaves it upside down, as you would expect.

Frequently asked questions
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. Only the angle recorded for each page changes; nothing on the page is redrawn or re-compressed. Text stays selectable and images keep their resolution.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes. Write the pages to turn as 1-3, 5, 8-10 and the rest stay as they are. This is the usual fix for a scanned document where a single page went through the scanner sideways.
Why was a page already turned before I changed anything?
Some PDFs are saved with a page turned on purpose, often by the scanner. The tool adds your rotation to that one instead of replacing it, which is why the result matches what you see on screen.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
No. A protected file has to be unlocked before it can be changed, and doing that here would mean asking for the password, which a page that promises not to upload anything should not be asking for. This includes files that open without a password but restrict editing, as many bank statements do. Remove the protection in your PDF reader first.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by your browser and rotated in the page itself. There is no upload and nothing is stored, and once the page has loaded it keeps working with the network switched off.
