Scrabble Word Finder

Scrabble word finder: enter your rack, up to two blanks, and see the highest-scoring English words you can play, with starts, ends and contains filters.

Words are sorted by their Scrabble score, using the standard English tile values: 1 point for common letters such as E and S, up to 10 for Q and Z. A blank tile scores nothing, so a word that needs one is worth less. Board bonuses are not included.

Up to 20 letters. Use ? for a blank tile.

What it does

These tools search the ENABLE word list, about 172,000 English words in the public domain and the list behind many word games, in your browser. Common words, from the Wiktionary frequency lists, are shown first and in bold; rare ones are still valid in most games. Offensive words have been removed.

How to use it

  1. Type your letters; use ? for each blank tile.
  2. Narrow the list with starts with, ends with, contains or the word length.
  3. Read the words grouped by length, or sort them by Scrabble score.

Frequently asked questions

Which dictionary does it use?
ENABLE, a public-domain list of about 172,000 English words used by many word games, such as Words With Friends. The official Scrabble dictionaries (NWL in North America, Collins elsewhere) are copyrighted and differ slightly, so check a doubtful word in your game.

How do blank tiles work?
Type a question mark for each blank. The blank can stand for any letter, so many more words appear. As in Scrabble, the letter played by a blank scores zero points.

Are my letters sent anywhere?
No. The word list is downloaded once and every search runs in your browser, so it stays fast and private.
