What it does
This tool saves a copy of a protected PDF without its password, so you do not have to type it every time, or removes the restrictions that stop you from printing or copying text. To remove an opening password you must know it: the tool does not guess or break passwords. Restrictions without an opening password can be removed directly. The work is done by qpdf, a widely used open-source PDF tool, running in your own browser, and the result is checked before it is downloaded.
How to use it

Frequently asked questions
Can it open a PDF if I do not know the password?
No. A PDF protected with an opening password is encrypted, and only the password decrypts it. This tool does not try to guess passwords. Only restrictions on printing, copying and editing can be removed without a password.
Is it allowed to remove the password?
Use this tool only for documents that are yours or that you have permission to use without protection, such as your own bank statements or files a colleague sent with the password.
Is my PDF or my password sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser: the PDF and the password are not uploaded or stored.
