  2. Press play and set a comfortable, low volume.
  3. Set a sleep timer if you want the sound to fade out by itself.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between white, pink and brown noise?
White noise has the same power at every frequency and sounds like a hiss. Pink noise loses 3 dB per octave and sounds like rain. Brown noise loses 6 dB per octave and sounds like a deep rumble.

Does it keep playing with the screen off?
On a computer, yes. On phones, browsers may pause sound when the screen locks or the tab is in the background; keep the page open, or download the WAV and play it in a music app on repeat.

Is it safe for babies?
Keep the volume low and the device away from the crib: studies of baby sleep machines found some can reach levels that are too loud for long exposure. A sound that is comfortable to talk over is a good guide.
