- Read your sign, its element and modality, and the sign dates of that year.
Frequently asked questions
Why do the sign dates change from year to year?
The calendar year has 365 or 366 days, but the Sun takes about 365.24 days to go around the zodiac. Leap years pull the dates back and forth, so a sign can start on the 19th one year and on the 21st another, depending also on the time zone.
What does it mean to be born on the cusp?
The Sun changes sign at a precise moment. If you were born on that day, your sign depends on your birth time and place. This calculator shows the exact time, computed from NASA JPL ephemerides.
Which zodiac does this use?
The tropical zodiac of Western astrology, where Aries begins at the March equinox. The sidereal zodiac of Vedic astrology is shifted by about 24 degrees, so its dates come roughly 24 days later.
