Net pay per month
MonthYear

What it does

In Spain the payslip takes two things from the gross salary: the worker's Social Security contribution, about 6.5% of the salary up to the maximum base of €5,101.20 a month, and the IRPF withholding, a percentage the employer calculates with the official algorithm of the tax agency (AEAT) from your salary, family and contract. This calculator applies that algorithm step by step and shows the net per payment, in 12 or 14 payments, and per year.

How to use it

  1. Type the gross salary per year or per payment and choose 12 or 14 payments.
  2. Choose the type of contract and your family situation, with the number of children.
  3. See the Social Security, the IRPF percentage and the net per payment and per year.

The arithmetic runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere and nothing is stored, so you can use these with real numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my IRPF percentage different from a colleague's?
The withholding depends on the salary, the number and age of the children, the family situation, age and the contract. It is an advance: in the annual tax return (declaración de la renta) the real tax is calculated with the scale of your region, and you get a refund or pay the difference.

12 or 14 payments: which gives more?
The same per year. With 14 payments the salary is split into 12 months plus two extra payments, usually in June and December, so each monthly payment is smaller.

How much is withheld on the minimum wage?
The minimum wage (SMI) in 2026 is €17,094 a year (€1,221 × 14). The withholding thresholds were not updated, so a single person without children has about 3.06% withheld (€523 a year). The new deduction for low earners is applied later, in the tax return.

What are the MEI and the solidarity contribution?
The MEI (intergenerational equity mechanism) is an extra pension contribution of 0.90% of the base in 2026, of which the worker pays 0.15%. The solidarity contribution, new in 2026, applies only to the part of the salary above the maximum base of €5,101.20 a month; the worker pays 0.19% to 0.24% of it.
