Case Converter
Free case converter. Change text to UPPERCASE, lowercase, Sentence case or Capitalized Case, or to camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case for code, in any language, right in your browser.
What it does
A case converter rewrites the same text with different capital letters. UPPERCASE and lowercase change every letter; Sentence case starts each sentence with a capital; Capitalize Each Word does what it says, without capitalizing the letter after an apostrophe, so "don't" becomes "Don't". The formats for code join the words into one name, the way programmers write variables and files. Capital letters depend on the language: in Turkish the capital of i is İ and the small form of I is ı, and German ß becomes SS. The converter follows the language of the page you are on.
How to use it
- Paste or type your text in the box.
- Pick the case you want; the result appears below at once.
- Copy the result, which updates as you type.
Frequently asked questions
What is sentence case?
Sentence case writes everything in lowercase except the first letter of each sentence, the way normal prose is written. Names and acronyms become lowercase too, since the converter cannot tell them apart from ordinary words, so check them afterwards.
What are camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case?
Ways of writing several words as a single name, used in programming. camelCase joins them and capitalizes each word after the first (customerName); PascalCase capitalizes the first one too (CustomerName); snake_case joins them with underscores (customer_name); kebab-case with hyphens (customer-name); CONSTANT_CASE in capitals with underscores. The converter also splits existing names, so customerName can become customer_name.
Does it work with accents and other alphabets?
Yes. Accented letters keep their accents, and each language's rules are applied: Turkish dotted and dotless i, German ß, the Greek final sigma. Scripts without capital letters, such as Chinese, Japanese or Arabic, stay as they are.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser, in the page itself. Nothing is sent to our server and nothing is stored, so it is safe to use with private lists and documents.
