Bolivian Boliviano
The Bolivian Boliviano (sign: Bs.; code: BOB) is the official currency of Bolivia, a landlocked country in South America, issued by the Banco Central de Bolivia. The current boliviano was introduced in 1987, replacing the peso boliviano at a rate of 1,000,000 pesos per boliviano, following a period of hyperinflation. The name "boliviano" honors Simón Bolívar, the independence leader after whom Bolivia itself is named.
