Ghanaian Cedi

The Ghanaian Cedi (sign: ₵; code: GHS) is the official currency of Ghana, a West African nation and one of the continent's more stable democracies, issued by the Bank of Ghana. The current cedi was introduced in 2007, replacing the second cedi at a rate of 10,000 old cedis per new cedi, in a redenomination aimed at simplifying transactions. The word "cedi" derives from the Akan word for cowrie shell, which was historically used as currency in the region.

The United States dollar (symbol: $; code: USD) is the official currency of the United States and several other countries. It is the world's primary reserve currency and is the most traded currency in the global foreign exchange market. The dollar is subdivided into 100 cents.
