DVD (1 Layer, 2 Side) — DVD-10

A single-layer, double-sided DVD, designated DVD-10, holds approximately 9.4 gigabytes by storing data on both physical sides of the disc, each side holding 4.7 GB. Unlike dual-layer discs, the DVD-10 requires the user to physically flip the disc to access the second side. It was used for some early DVD releases and special editions requiring extra content capacity.

Bit

A bit (binary digit) is the most basic unit of digital information, representing a logical state with one of two possible values: 0 or 1. The term was coined by statistician John Tukey in 1946 and popularized by Claude Shannon in his foundational work on information theory. Eight bits form one byte, the standard unit of computer storage.
