Gigawatt-Hour

A gigawatt-hour (symbol: GW·h) is a unit of energy equal to 3.6 × 10¹² joules (3.6 terajoules), representing the energy delivered by one gigawatt of power sustained for one hour. It is used to measure the output of large power plants, national electricity generation, and grid-scale energy storage systems. One gigawatt-hour equals one million kilowatt-hours.
