Year converter
Age is the age reached on this year's birthday (subtract 1 if it has not come yet). The zodiac follows the calendar year, as in Japan; in the Chinese calendar it changes at Lunar New Year.

What it does

Many countries count years from their own starting point while keeping the Gregorian months and days. This converter shows a date in all of these calendars at once and includes a year chart with ages and the zodiac sign of each year.

How to use it

  1. Pick a Gregorian date to see it in the era; the result updates as you type.
  2. Use the year converter in either direction: type the era year or the Gregorian year.
  3. Use the year chart to look up birth years, ages and zodiac signs.

Frequently asked questions

Which calendars does this converter cover?
The Japanese eras from Meiji to Reiwa, Thailand's Buddhist Era, Taiwan's Minguo year, the Korean Dangi year, India's national Saka calendar and the sexagenary cycle (干支). The Islamic and Chinese lunar calendars have their own converters.

Is the Korean Dangi year still used?
Dangi counts years from the legendary founding of Gojoseon in 2333 BC, so 2026 is Dangi 4359. It was South Korea's official year count from 1948 to 1961 and still appears on some traditional and commemorative dates.
