Watt

The <b>watt </b> (symbol: <b>W </b>) is a unit of power. In the International System of Units (SI) it is defined as a derived unit of 1 joule per second, and is used to quantify the rate of energy transfer. In SI base units, the watt is described as kg⋅m 2 ⋅s −3 , which can be demonstrated to be coherent by dimensional analysis. The watt is named after James Watt, an 18th-century Scottish inventor.

Erg bawat Segundo

The <b>erg per second</b> (<b>erg/s</b>) is a unit of power in the centimetre–gram–second (CGS) system of units. One <b>erg</b> is defined as the amount of work done by a force of one dyne over a displacement of one centimetre, equal to 10−7 <b>joules</b>. Therefore, one <b>erg/s</b> equals 10−7 <b>watts</b>. It was historically used in physics and astronomy, particularly in the CGS-based literature, before the widespread adoption of SI units.
