Watt
The <b>watt </b> (symbol: <b>W </b>) is a unit of power. In the International System of Units (SI) it is defined as a derived unit of 1 joule per second, and is used to quantify the rate of energy transfer. In SI base units, the watt is described as kg⋅m 2 ⋅s −3 , which can be demonstrated to be coherent by dimensional analysis. The watt is named after James Watt, an 18th-century Scottish inventor.
Kilovolt-Ampere
The <b>kilovolt-ampere</b> (kVA) is a unit of <b>apparent power</b> in AC electrical systems, equal to 1000 volt-amperes. It expresses the total power supplied to a circuit, combining both active (real) power and reactive power. The ratio of real power in kilowatts to apparent power in kVA is known as the <b>power factor</b>.
