Pascal
The <b>pascal</b> (<b>Pa</b>) is the SI derived unit of pressure, defined as one <b>newton per square metre</b> (N/m²). It was adopted by the General Conference on Weights and Measures in 1971 and named after the French mathematician and physicist Blaise Pascal. Standard atmospheric pressure is approximately 101,325 <b>Pa</b>, and it is widely used in science, engineering, and meteorology.
Milibar
The <b>millibar</b> (<b>mbar</b>) is a unit of pressure equal to one thousandth of a <b>bar</b>, or 100 <b>pascals</b>. It is widely used in meteorology to report atmospheric pressure, where standard sea-level pressure is approximately 1013.25 <b>mbar</b>. The millibar was introduced alongside the bar by Vilhelm Bjerknes in 1909.
