Fill PDF Form

Fill in PDF forms online for free: type in the fields on the page, tick the boxes, choose the options and download the filled PDF. Nothing is uploaded.

The file is read by your browser and is not sent anywhere. No upload, no storage.

What it does

Many PDFs — tax forms, applications, contracts, registration forms — have fillable fields. This tool shows each page with its fields on top, so you fill the PDF as if it were paper: type in text boxes, tick check boxes, choose options from lists. The answers are saved in the form fields of the PDF, and the fields work with any letters, including Chinese, Arabic or Cyrillic. Optionally, the answers can be flattened into the page so they cannot be changed.

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF form.
  2. Click each field on the page and type your answer, tick boxes and choose options.
  3. Download the filled PDF, flattened if you want it locked.

Frequently asked questions

My PDF has no fields. Can I still fill it?
Yes, but not with this tool: scanned forms and PDFs made without fields only have printed lines. Use Edit PDF to place text anywhere on the page, or Sign PDF to add a signature.

Will the filled PDF open in Adobe Reader and on phones?
Yes. The answers are written into the PDF form fields together with their appearance, so Adobe Reader, browsers, Preview and phone apps all show them. If you flatten it, the answers become part of the page and look the same everywhere.

Can I fill IRS and government forms?
Yes, fillable government PDFs such as IRS forms (W-9, W-4, 1040), visa and registration forms work. Forms built only with XFA, an old Adobe-only format, open without their fields; download the version marked "fillable" or "AcroForm" from the agency instead.

Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened, filled and saved in your browser; nothing is sent to a server, which matters for tax forms and other personal documents.
