Chain (US Survey)

La US survey chain (symbol: ch) est une unité de length égal à 66 US survey feet, approximativement 20.11684 metres, used extensively in the public land survey system of the États-Unis. It differs slightly from the international chain due to the distinct definition of the US survey foot. The US survey chain formed the basis for the township-and-range system que divided most of the continental États-Unis into parcels for settlement.
