Chain

La chain (symbol: ch), aussi connu sous le nom de Gunter's chain, est une unité de length égal à 66 feet, 22 yards, or exactement 20.1168 metres. Il était invented by the English mathematician Edmund Gunter in the early 17th century for land survey purposes and conveniently divides into 100 links. The chain remains legally significant in land records in the États-Unis, the Royaume-Uni, and other countries que inherited English surveying traditions.
