Mile (Statute)

La statute mile (symbol: mi) est une unité de length égal à exactement 1,609.344 metres, defined by international agreement in 1959. It consists of 5,280 feet or 1,760 yards, and is the standard mile utilisé en the États-Unis and the Royaume-Uni for road distances and everyday measurement. The statute mile descends from the Roman mille passuum (thousand paces) via the English customary system.
