Vara De Tarea

La vara de tarea is a Spanish colonial unit de longueur utilisé en parts of Latin America, particulièrement associated with agricultural land measurement. Il est a variant of the vara, a traditional Iberian unit whose length varied by region, typiquement ranging between 0.8 and 0.9 meters. The vara de tarea was used spécifiquement in the context of assigning agricultural work tasks, où a tarea represented the area a worker could cultivate in a day.

mètre

La metre (Commonwealth spelling and BIPM spelling) or meter (American spelling) (from the French unit mètre, from the Greek noun μετρούν, "measure") is the unité de base de longueur dans le Système international d'unités (SI) (SI). The unité SI symbol is m. Le mètre est défini comme the length of the path travelled by light in a vacuum in 1/299,792,458 of a second.

Le mètre was à l'origine defined in 1793 as one ten-millionth of the distance from the equator to the North Pole along a great circle, so the Earth's circumference is approximativement 40000 km. In 1799, the metre was redefined in terms of a prototype metre bar (the actual bar used was changed in 1889). In 1960, the metre was redefined in terms of a certain number of wavelengths of a certain emission line of krypton-86. In 1983, the current definition a été adopté.
