What it does

Flip a virtual coin to decide between two options, start a game or settle a bet. Each flip is drawn by your device's cryptographic random generator, so heads and tails have exactly the same chance. The page counts the results, shows streaks and the last flips, and lets you flip 10, 100 or 1,000 coins at once to see the percentages get closer to 50% as the number grows.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really 50/50?
Yes, exactly. A real coin is not quite: a study of 350,757 flips found that it lands on the side it started on about 51% of the time (Bartoš et al., 2023). The virtual coin has no starting side and no bias.

Why do I sometimes get many heads in a row?
Streaks are a normal part of chance. In 100 flips, a run of 6 or more of the same side happens about 80% of the time. Each flip is independent: after five heads, the next is still 50/50.

Is the result really random?
Yes. It uses the cryptographic random number generator of your device, the same used to create passwords, and discards values that would favour some results, so every face has exactly the same chance. We test it with a chi-square test over hundreds of thousands of rolls.
