Excel to PDF

Convert Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx) to PDF for free in your browser: page layout, print area, fit to page, borders, colours and number formats kept.

The file is converted in your browser and never uploaded.

What it does

The converter prints your workbook the way Excel does: it follows the print area, orientation, paper size, margins, scaling and "fit to page" settings saved in the file, repeats title rows, and keeps column widths, row heights, merged cells, borders, fill colours, fonts, images and number formats such as currency, percentages and dates. Columns that do not fit go to the next page, down first and then across, as in Excel.

How to use it

  1. Choose the .xlsx file, or drag it onto the box.
  2. Pick the sheets to include and, if you want, the paper size, "fit all columns" or gridlines.
  3. Click "Convert to PDF", then open or download the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Are formulas recalculated?
No. The PDF shows the values Excel saved with the file, exactly as they were the last time it was saved. Files created by other programs without saved results show those cells empty; open and save them in Excel or another spreadsheet program first.

Why is my spreadsheet split across several pages?
Because the columns are wider than the paper, as when printing from Excel. Tick "Fit all columns on one page width" to shrink the sheet to the width of one page, or set "Fit to page" and the print area in Excel before converting.

Are charts included?
Not yet. Images are included, but charts, shapes and text boxes are left out, and the page tells you how many there were. To keep a chart, copy it as a picture in Excel before converting.

Will the fonts look the same?
Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New are replaced by free fonts with exactly the same letter widths, so columns and line breaks stay where they are. Other fonts are replaced by the closest of these.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?
No. The file is read and converted in your browser; nothing is sent to a server, which also makes it safe for confidential spreadsheets.
