Newton

The newton (symbol: N) is the SI unit of force, named after Sir Isaac Newton. One newton is the force needed to accelerate a mass of one kilogram at one metre per second squared (1 N = 1 kg·m/s²). Roughly the weight of a small (100 g) apple under standard gravity, it is the base unit used throughout physics and engineering to express force, weight and thrust. 


Exanewton

The exanewton (EN) is a unit of force equal to 10¹⁸ newtons, formed by applying the SI exa- prefix to the newton. Forces of this magnitude are encountered only in astrophysical calculations, such as gravitational interactions between galaxy clusters. One exanewton equals 10¹⁸ newtons.
