XML to CSV Converter

Convert XML to CSV or Excel in your browser: the repeated element becomes the rows, and its attributes and child elements become the columns. Free and private.

The file is read by your browser and is not sent anywhere. No upload, no storage.

What it does

Most XML data, such as product feeds, invoices, sitemaps or exports, is a list of the same element repeated: book, item, product. This tool finds those repeated elements, makes one row for each, and turns their attributes (as @id) and child elements (as title, or price/@currency for an attribute of a child) into columns. Repeated children are joined with a semicolon.

How to use it

  1. Open an .xml file or paste the XML.
  2. Check the repeated element chosen and the preview.
  3. Download the CSV or the Excel file.

Frequently asked questions

Which element becomes a row?
The tool picks the element that repeats most often under the same parent, such as book in a catalogue of 500 books, and lists the others so you can choose.

What are the columns that start with @?
They are attributes: <book id="b1"> gives a column @id with b1, while <title>…</title> inside the book gives a column title.

Can I open the result in Excel?
Yes. Download it as an .xlsx file to open it directly, or as CSV with a semicolon if your Excel uses a decimal comma.
