फैदम
A fathom (प्रतीक: fath) की एक मात्रक है length के बराबर 6 feet, exactly 1.8288 metres, traditionally used for measuring water depth. The word derives from the Old English fæðm, meaning the outstretched arms, and the unit originally represented the span of a man's arms from fingertip to fingertip. Although largely replaced by the metre in modern nautical charts, the fathom is still encountered in traditional seamanship, anchor chain measurement, and mining.
