A furlong (प्रतीक: fur) की एक मात्रक है length के बराबर one-eighth of a mile, exactly 201.168 metres or 220 yards. Originally derived from the Old English furh (furrow) and lang (long), it described the length of a furrow in one acre of a ploughed field in the common-field system. Today the furlong is retained primarily in horse racing, where race distances in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States are traditionally measured in furlongs.
