A leap year is a calendar year containing one additional day — February 29 — added to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical solar year. In the Gregorian calendar, a year is a leap year if divisible by 4, except for century years not divisible by 400. One leap year equals exactly 366 days or 31,622,400 seconds.
