Lepton (Biblical Roman)
The lepton (λεπτόν) was the smallest bronze or copper coin and unit of account used in ancient Judea during the Biblical period, referenced in the New Testament parable of the "widow's mite." As a द्रव्यमान की मात्रक, it corresponded to the weight of the coin, लगभग 0.3–0.4 grams depending on the mint and period. It was part of a hierarchical currency system in which larger denominations such as the quadrans and denarius were defined as multiples of the lepton.
