Forint Hungaria
The Hungarian Forint (sign: Ft; code: HUF) is the official currency of Hungary, a Central European member state of the European Union, issued by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank. Introduced on August 1, 1946, following one of the most severe hyperinflations in history, the forint replaced the pengő at the extraordinary rate of 400 octillion (4×10²⁹) pengős per forint. Although Hungary is an EU member, it has not adopted the euro and continues to use the forint as its national currency.
