Byte
The byte adalah satuan dari digital information that most commonly consists of eight bits. Historically, the byte was the number of bits used to encode a single character of text in a computer, and for this reason it is the smallest addressable unit of memory in many computer architectures. The simbol for the byte is B as standardized by the IEC and IEEE. To distinguish bytes from bits, data transfer rates are often given in bits per detik (bit/s) while storage capacity is given in bytes (B).

A bit (binary digit) is the most basic unit of digital information, representing a logical state with one of two possible values: 0 or 1. The term was coined by statistician John Tukey in 1946 and popularized by Claude Shannon in his foundational work on information theory. Eight bits form one byte, the standard unit of computer storage.
