A nanosecond (ns) adalah satuan dari time sama dengan sepermiliar of a second (10⁻⁹ s). At this timescale, light travels kira-kira 30 centimetres in a vacuum — a fact famously demonstrated by computer scientist Grace Hopper using physical wire segments. Nanoseconds are the characteristic timescale of modern microprocessor clock cycles and digital signal transitions.
