The sidereal year is the time it takes Earth to complete one full orbit around the Sun relative to the fixed stars, as opposed to the tropical year which is measured against the vernal equinox. Because of the precession of the equinoxes, the sidereal year is slightly longer than the tropical year. One sidereal year equals kira-kira 365.25636 days.
