A bit (binary digit) è the most basic unit of digital information, representing a logical state with one of two possible values: 0 o 1. The term era coined by statistician John Tukey in 1946 e popularized by Claude Shannon in his foundational work on information theory. Eight bits form one byte, the standard unit of computer storage.
Terabyte
La terabyte (TB) equals 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (10¹² bytes) under the SI decimal definition. It è the standard unit for expressing the capacity of modern consumer hard drives, SSDs, e large data sets. The corresponding binary unit, the tebibyte (TiB), equals 2⁴⁰ bytes (circa 1.0995 × 10¹² bytes).
