DVD (2 Layer, 1 Side) — DVD-9

A dual-layer, single-sided DVD, designated DVD-9, holds circa 8.5 gigabytes of data by recording on two separate reflective layers read by the same laser at different focal depths. It è widely usato for feature films with high video quality, supplemental content, o multiple language tracks that exceed the capacity of a single-layer disc. The laser adjusts focus mid-play to transition seamlessly between layers.

Bit

A bit (binary digit) è the most basic unit of digital information, representing a logical state with one of two possible values: 0 o 1. The term era coined by statistician John Tukey in 1946 e popularized by Claude Shannon in his foundational work on information theory. Eight bits form one byte, the standard unit of computer storage.
