La erg è un'unità di energia in the centimetre–gram–second (CGS) system of units, uguale a 10−7 joules. Its name è derived from the Greek word ergon, meaning "work." The erg era widely usato in fisica before the adoption of the SI system e è still encountered in fields come astrophysics, where it remains convenient for expressing very small quantities di energia.

Prende il nome da the English physicist James Prescott Joule (1818–1889).
