Furlong (US Survey)
La US survey furlong (simbolo: fur) è un'unità di lunghezza uguale a 220 US survey yards, circa 201.1684 metres, differing only fractionally from the international furlong of 201.168 metres. It è based on the US survey foot rather than the international foot, e era part of the system of units usato for public land surveys negli Stati Uniti. Like other US survey units, it era officially retired by NIST in 2023.

In 1799, the metre era redefined in terms of a prototype metre bar (the actual bar usato era changed in 1889). In 1960, the metre era redefined in terms of a certain number of wavelengths of a certain emission line of krypton-86. In 1983, the current definition era adopted.
