Square Mil
The square mil (symbol: mil² or sq mil) is an imperial unit of area equal to the area of a square whose sides measure one mil, that is one thousandth of an inch. One square mil equals 6.4516 × 10-10 square metres. It is used mainly in electronics and manufacturing to express the cross-sectional area of wires and the thickness of coatings and films.
