Newton-meter

The newton-meter (N·m) is the SI unit of torque (moment of force), defined as the torque resulting from a force of one newton applied perpendicularly at a distance of one meter from the pivot point. It is also the SI unit of energy (the joule), though in the context of rotational mechanics the newton-meter is kept distinct. The unit is named after Sir Isaac Newton and is fundamental in mechanical engineering and physics.

Poundal Foot

The poundal-foot (pdl·ft) is a unit of torque in the foot-pound-second (FPS) absolute system, defined as the torque resulting from a force of one poundal acting at a perpendicular distance of one foot. The poundal itself is the absolute unit of force in the FPS system, equal to the force needed to accelerate one pound-mass at one foot per square second. One pdl·ft equals approximately 0.0421401 newton-meters.
