What it does

This editor lets you write and draw on top of the pages of a PDF in your browser. Add text in three fonts with any size and color, cover parts of the page with white-out, highlight passages, draw freehand and insert images such as a logo or a stamp. Every item can be moved, deleted or undone, page by page, and the result is downloaded as a new PDF that keeps the original pages, links and bookmarks.

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF file.
  2. Pick a tool and click or drag on the page; use select to move or delete items.
  3. Download the edited PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the text that is already in the PDF?
Not directly: this tool writes on top of the page. To replace a word, cover it with white-out and write the new text over it. To rewrite a whole document, convert it to Word first.

Will the text I add be searchable?
Yes, when it uses the Western European Latin alphabet: it goes in as real text that can be selected and searched. Text in other scripts, such as Cyrillic, Arabic or Chinese, goes in as a sharp image, because the standard PDF fonts do not include those letters.

Does white-out remove the hidden content?
No. It covers the area visually, but the original text stays in the file and can still be copied. To really remove sensitive information, convert the edited PDF to images and then back to PDF.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened, edited and saved in your browser, on your own device.
