Frequently asked questions
Why does an emoji look different on another phone?
Each system (Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung) draws emojis in its own style. The character is the same, so the meaning is kept, but the picture changes. Very new emojis may appear as an empty box on old systems.
How do I change the skin tone?
Click one of the colored circles next to the search box. People and hand emojis that support skin tones change at once; the others stay the same.
Where do the emoji names come from?
From the Unicode Common Locale Data Repository (CLDR), the same source phones use for the emoji keyboard in each language, so searching works with the words people really use.
